We love analysis in the adventure racing community and that’s why I’m always looking for new ways for us to visualize the sport. Thanks to Bend Racing’s Dusty Caseria for providing the GPS track from his Garmin Enduro. With a little help from Google Earth, we can start to get a feel for the elevation gain on the 2023 Nationals course. By “draping” the race maps over the 3D digital surface, the topo lines can now show a clearer picture of all that elevation gain: a purported USARA National Championship record of nearly 19,000 ft.
