Feral Femmes are the All-Womens Division Winners

Team Feral Femmes crossed the finish line at the 2023 USARA National Championship unaware of their position in the race. With the largest field of all women’s teams of any National Championship race, this division could have been won by any of several experienced teams, including BRF Barf Racing and Fragile Flowers Don’t Ask Y.

Comprised of Kit Vreeland, Ashley Eaton and Emily Moreshead, team Feral Femmes were surprised and elated to learn that they had won their division outright, and by several checkpoints. The well-earned champagne shower was a first for all three members of the team.

As a result of the win, the team has now been invited to compete as the official Women of AR team for the 2024 season. They have also been offered free entry into a slew of US adventure races as well as $1,000 stipend to race together. Founded by USARA board member Stephanie Ross, ‘Women of AR is a campaign founded to introduce women to adventure racing, although membership in this group is not limited to women. Women of AR is about mentoring the next generation of racers and modeling an active lifestyle for girls. Women of AR. Adventure awaits!’
