5:55am - Additional penalties assessed to teams
It seems to have been a very common mistake: several teams have now been caught out by the subtle off-limits markings on the map and rules of travel for stage 6 -the Rock Creek mountain bike. As is often the case in adventure racing, teams can make mistakes and bounce back. Team Katana is now regrouping in transition and getting recharged by a fresh dose of trail mail from their family and friends watching at home. It’s amazing what a little note from a friend or family member can do for your spirits after a very challenging night on course.
